« THE DOC IS BACK! » last show of Dr. Lamontagne

On March 24th, close to 350 people were attending the show of Dr Yves Lamontagne entitled “The Doc is Back!” at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal. The President and CEO of the Collège des médecins du Québec and the founding president of the Foundation has given in to the temptation of taking to the stage for a sixth and “last time” for the Foundation’s benefit.

Accompanied by the musicians Guy Des Rosiers, Jean-Paul Moïse, Thomas Brodeur, Christian Morissette, Maria Crusco, Guillaume Larouche and the choir singers, Melissa Diallo, Judy Morris, Sandra Morris, Patrick Olafson and the special participation of Marc-André Cuierrier and Michel Cusson, the “Doc” performed ballads, rock’n’roll, twist and cha-cha-cha songs celebrated in the 60’ to the delight of rockers of all ages. As always, he generated enthusiasm among his fans and friends.

At the end of this wild evening, Dr. Martin Tremblay, chair of the Board of Directors of the Mental Illness Foundation paid tribute to Dr. Yves Lamontagne by presenting him with a commemorative picture frame of his shows for the Foundation’s benefit. Dr. Tremblay also took this opportunity to thank him for his great generosity toward the Foundation.

This evening saw his fifth CD recorded which will be available only through the Mental Illness Foundation as from May. All profits from the show and CD sales will be dedicated to the Mental Illness Foundation programs.

The Foundation was held thanks to the support of our sponsors and donors such as the Collège des médecins du Québec, Hydro Québec, the Fédération des caisses Desjardins, SNC Lavalin, Rio Tinto Alcan, the Taverne Magnan and Radio Boomer 1570 AM. The Foundation is proud to announce that by itself, this show raised $101,240 in income.

Founded in 1980 by Dr. Yves Lamontagne, the Mental Illness Foundation has for mission the prevention of mental illness in order to reduce the suffering of those affected and their loved ones by mobilizing individuals and society.
